Appologies to our Members ( and guests)....but due to circumstances beyond our control ,Admin have noticed that ads are now appearing on this site ..(if you do a lot of surfing you may see many other sites also with ads on them... )

There is an application called the Hosts file that can be used on a computer to effectively block unwanted ads

To help our guests and Members to use this site without the intrusive ads, we felt we would like to introduce you to the Hosts application ;please see below the detail of where to find it and how to apply it to your computer. As the application is installed in different ways on different Windows versions we require you to please read this

Disclaimer from the

>>Forum Rules section <<

before you attempt to install this 'application'on your computer ......

Assuming you know your computer is clean and free from infection have you noticed intrusive and unwanted ads on any web pages you visit ?

Would you like to view those pages ads -free?

If so,you may wish to look at the
>>Hosts file<<

Quote :

What it does ...
The Hosts file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. This file is loaded into memory (cache) at startup, then Windows checks the Hosts file before it queries any DNS servers, which enables it to override addresses in the DNS. This prevents access to the listed sites by redirecting any connection attempts back to the local (your) machine. Another feature of the HOSTS file is its ability to block other applications from connecting to the Internet, providing the entry exists.

Please note>>this application is installed on different OS'S in different ways so you need to scroll down the information page
to locate the instructions relevent for YOUR windows version

Please also note>> that this IS a program that does 'update' at approximately monthly intervals and it is your responsibility to check on the Hosts address (given above and by a Google search FOR Hosts ) at regular intervals to get the most up to date 'installation' and apply it to the computer Blocking unwanted ads on web pages...a 'how to' guide ...
